WATER STREET PARKING GARAGE
Amesbury, Massachusetts

C&C The Water Street Parking Garage is a 110-car facility constructed on a sloping site behind the central business district of Amesbury in 1986. It suffered from water intrusion, vandalism and lack of maintenance. In 2001, C&C Consulting Engineers was selected to conduct a structural survey and prepare restoration plans.

The inspection revealed failed water stops, cracking and delaminating of the decks, rusted and plugged scupper drains, deteriorated caulking in wall control joints, localized damage to several tee-beams, and a badly vandalized lighting system. The results of the inspection were prepared in report form and reviewed with City officials.

Based on the satisfactory review, C&C prepared contract plans and specifications for the rehabilitation project. Plans were completed in December 2001, but the project was tabled in early 2002 for lack of funding for construction.
